Too many hand, body, and household soaps today are detergents, alcohol, and other chemicals. In fact to call them soaps is not even accurate and if you look at their packaging they are not even identified as such. Here are the ingredients list of a common "soap" :
Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Decyl Glucoside, Sodium Chloride, Fragrance, DMDM Hydantoin, PEG 120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate, Tetrasodium EDTA, Sodium Sulfate, Polyquaternium 7, Citric Acid, Poloxamer 124, PEG 7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Fruit Extract, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Fruit Extract, Benzophenone 4,
What is all that stuff you may ask? Exactly- what is it? There are increasing studies coming out about the negative effects of some of these ingredients. If you search on some of those terms you can find the information.
Even more distressing is the prevalence of 'anti-bacterial' products containing triclosan- this agent is currently under review by the FDA and according to them there is no evidence that it provides an extra benefit to health. In fact there are recent studies linking this agent to cancer and other toxic compounds.
Enough bad news! Fortunately our soaps contain none of these ingredients, just vegetable glycerin derived from converting vegetable oil to biodiesel, water, potassium hydroxide (caustic that is used up in the process), and either essential oils or natural fragrance oils. Our soaps are not only fantastic for your skin, but good for the environment as well.
"The standard commercial bars sold in the stores always leave my skin feeling dry and stripped of natural oils. I was introduced to Wash Tyme Soap and absolutely love the way they make my skin feel...moisturized but without a film or overwhelming scent."
